Abroad

While I haven’t been out of the United States too many times yet, I am very fortunate to have made a few trips with my family and now that I have graduated college, I can plan more trips of my own! I believe my first trip out of the United States was in middle school when my French class visited Quebec city. We had so much fun taking a tour, visiting a sugar shack, and trying dog sledding! Since then my family has gone to Europe a few times and I’ve taken a few more trips of my own into Canada. I love traveling with my family, but I think it would be really exciting to try more trips with friends too, just a completely different experience.

I’ve seen the major sites in London, Paris, and Rome but there is way more to do in those countries that I would be ecstatic to try. My favorite trip was probably my family’s visit to Ireland because everything was so green and cozy and it was a beautiful country to drive around. There was so much history and the tour guides we had there were amazing. Reaching the top of Mt. Pilatus in Switzerland was an awe-inspiring moment, actually being in the Alps. They were also gorgeous. As you can tell I love any outdoor activities when traveling to new areas but that doesn’t mean I don’t love the cities as well! Local food and architecture are two of my favorite things to spot. From the pasta in Italy to the flats in London, I love seeing all the different aspects of a place.

There are so many locations I would love to revisit but also new areas I want to explore. I would love to drive around Canada more, British Columbia area especially! The landscape is just beautiful. Planning my own trips now, I am hoping to one day visit more parts of Europe and travel to Iceland, Southeast Asia, South America, and more! From road trips to week-long getaways, I just think there is so much to try. It would be so cool to backpack around a country, go on a train ride, or go on a trek with a guide into the mountains.

I am so grateful to have travelled as much as I have and I hope I can continue to do so. It’s amazing so see and learn about different cultures and I would love to immerse myself in more, meeting people and seeing different ways of life. It’s silly to think we’ll eventually get to see everything in this world because we won’t. I want to embrace opportunities, go to amazing places with people that make me happy, and continue to try new things as I grow. Hopefully I will be able to share them all with you.
